The parent company, Euro Disney, was found to have been delinquent in paying various invoices, a violation discovered by the Directorate General of Competition, Consumer Affairs, and Fraud Prevention (DGCCRF), a government organization responsible for overseeing competition, consumer affairs, and fraud prevention.

The DGCCRF investigated Euro Disney’s compliance with statutory payment terms, which in France dictate that invoices must be paid within sixty days unless otherwise specified in a contract. In 2020, Euro Disney failed to adhere to these terms, resulting in a hefty fine of 1.3 million euros.

The Disneyland Paris resort has not commented on the fine. In France, companies can face fines of up to 2 million euros for such payment delays. This penalty can double if another violation occurs within two years.
