Drawing inspiration from the reception rooms of real castles, the restaurant provides a special setting adorned with an wide display of portraits that depict Disney’s renowned royal narratives.

Attendees can enjoy a royal feast featuring dishes influenced by the diverse cultures that have inspired the famous films. Notable offerings include the Spicy Cajun Shrimp, a culinary tribute to Tiana’s native Louisiana as depicted in Walt Disney Animation Studios’ film “The Princess and the Frog.”

To enhance the overall dining experience, collaboration between Walt Disney Imagineering Paris and Walt Disney Animation Studios was integral. This partnership ensured the careful selection and representation of a broad range of characters, with each piece of artwork exclusively created for the restaurant. Here’s a complete breakdown of the restaurant’s art.

1. Prologue Dining Room
In the Prologue dining room, diners can revisit characters at their origins, ready to embark on their respective royal journeys.

Examples include Arthur from “The Sword in the Stone,” rightfully assuming the throne with Merlin by his side, and young Kida from “Atlantis: The Lost Empire,” depicted alongside her parents before the momentous events that shaped her fate.

Some portrayals take on a particularly authentic quality, such as the depiction of Merida’s family from Pixar Animation Studios’ “Brave.” This portrayal is intricately woven into an authentic tapestry with a unique design. To bring this artistic vision to fruition, Imagineers collaborated with craftsmen at Tissage des Flandres, a workshop situated in the historic textile basin of Northern France, boasting over 130 years of expertise in creating high-quality tapestries.

2. Buffet Artwork
As you navigate the diverse offerings at the buffet, take a moment to observe the walls adorned with depictions of characters known for their culinary prowess (or infamous kitchen mishaps!).

Disney chefs are showcased presenting their renowned recipes, featuring highlights such as Boun from “Raya and the Last Dragon” preparing his shrimp congee and Kronk from “The Emperor’s New Groove” serving his spinach puffs.

However, some depictions illustrate varying degrees of success, like Fauna, the good fairy from “Sleeping Beauty,” attempting to “bake” Aurora’s birthday cake!

3. Royal Villains
Villainous royalty will also find a place in the antechamber, assuming control of one of the spaces. In this part of the display featuring villains, diners can appreciate the presence of the self-assured King Magnifico from “Wish,” the cunning King Candy from “Wreck-it Ralph,” or the imposing Queen from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.”

4. Equestrian Portrait Collection
The restaurant’s final room, known as the Carousel, derives its name from its shape and the adorned portraits that pay homage to Disney’s famous steeds. Displaying distinctive postures reflecting their individual personalities, the portraits showcase traditional Disney Animation mounts, ranging from Maximus in “Tangled” to Khan in “Mulan,” and even unconventional choices like Sven in “Frozen” and Abu in “Aladdin.”

Adding to the royal-themed dining experience, The Royal Banquet offers opportunities to meet and dine with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and their friends during both lunch and dinner, adorned in exclusive regal attire. The restaurant is set to open on January 25 at Disneyland Hotel and will cost 100 € per adult and 50 € for kids ages 3 – 11. One cold drink is included.
Attendance requires a valid reservation at any Disney Hotel and the Royal Banquet restaurant for lunch, along with a valid reservation at the Disneyland Hotel and the Royal Banquet restaurant for dinner.
