Disneyland Paris just announced that the new dining room coming to Pizzeria Bella Notte (Fantasyland) will be inspired by the Pixar film “Luca”. The new dining room will replace the now defunct Fantasia Gelati ice cream parlor.

The new exterior will integrate itself into Fantasyland’s visual language and features a mural that reads “Mari e monti. Non ci dividono. Luna e sole. Sempre risplendono.“ which translates to “Seas and mountains. They don’t divide us. Moon and sun. They always shine.“. The lyric stems from the Italian version of it’s a small world.

Since its opening in 1992, Fantasyland has been an homage to European fairy tales and storytellers. A place where the charm of animation meets the architectural styles of Europe. Pizzeria Bella Notte is no exception, paying homage to various Italian regions. The quick service restaurant features nods to “Lady and the Tramp” as well as “Fantasia”. Soon park goers can look forward to Pixar’s “Luca” as well.

Set on the Italian Riviera, the film centers on Luca Paguro, a young sea monster with the ability to assume human form while on land. Luca and his friends explore the town of Portorosso, experiencing a life-changing summer adventure.
Imagineers decided to integrate the fan-favorite sea monster into Pizzeria Bella Notte to add to the variety of characters represented in Disneyland Park. The new dining room will also feature a seaside atmosphere with several details and maritime objects, that evoke the local fishing culture and cuisine. In addition to providing further space for diners to enjoy Italian specialties.

The concept sketch Disneyland Paris shared features a new mural as well as a new ships wheel chandelier among other nautical props along the walls.
“’Luca’ is a beautiful coming-of-age tale that reminds us of the beauty of acceptance, of one another but also from within. Discovering who we are can be a daunting challenge, but friendships can help us on that journey,” shares Tracy Eck, Art Director at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris – Design & Show Quality. “I’m really happy that we are able to bring elements from the story of “Luca” here to Fantasyland.”
