Dutch theme park Efteling has announced the debut of Magicaluna, a new illusion show set to open at the Efteling Theater on April 3, 2026.
The 20-minute non-verbal production will feature magical illusions and choreography centered around a teenage protagonist named Luna. According to the park’s announcement, the show follows Luna as she navigates through dreamscapes that teach her about the importance of maintaining wonder and imagination.

Show Details
Magicaluna will be performed three times daily at 12:30 PM, 1:30 PM, and 2:30 PM from April 3 through November 8, 2026. Admission to the show is included with park entry, and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The park recommends the show for guests ages six and older.
The production tells the story of Luna, who decides to leave her childhood behind on the eve of her birthday by packing away her toys. During the night, “dream builders” transform her room into what the park describes as a “dream spectacle” featuring animated toys, shadow effects, and various illusions.
Production Team
Efteling has partnered with Magus Utopia, an illusion production company with over 25 years of experience and performances in more than 40 countries. The company previously worked on Universal Studios Florida’s Halloween production Nightmare Fuel Wildfire and has created shows for Chimelong Ocean Kingdom in China.
The park notes this represents Magus Utopia’s first collaboration with Efteling, producing what they characterize as a “dreamy illusion show with a clear Efteling signature.”
Existing Programming
The new daytime show schedule allows the existing evening production, CARO, to continue its regular performances. CARO is a theater show featuring music, dance, and acrobatics that has been running at the Efteling Theater.

The premiere performances of Magicaluna are scheduled for 1:30 PM and 2:30 PM on April 3, 2026.
