Disneyland Paris has shared an official elevation for the Disney Village north block. It reveals the final exterior design for that section of the shopping, dining, and entertainment district.

Disney Village is situated between the Disney parks and hotels and construction work is already ongoing. Disneyland Paris is aiming for completion in 2026, gradually rolling out the new facades and shops. Rosalie, a French brasserie, will be the first new dining experience as part of the major refurbishment and is scheduled to open later this year. Additionally, the entire block of buildings adjacent to the restaurant, spanning almost 200 meters, will undergo a complete transformation and offer refreshed shopping experiences.

Most of the construction work will be conducted in two phases to minimize any inconvenience to guests visiting Disney Village. The first phase, starting from early 2024 until the following autumn, will focus on transforming Disney Fashion, Disney Fashion Jr, and The Disney Gallery. These shops will undergo complete interior re-design. Their facades will receive large panoramic windows to maximize visibility from the main promenade.

Upon completion, the shops will showcase new shopping concepts such as Fashion & Lifestyle, Home Décor, Disney Art & Collectibles, as well as products from popular Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars franchises. Shops will feature new layouts, fittings, and decorations. Furthermore, updated facades aim to provide Disney Village with a contemporary visual identity. The facades will incorporate natural tones, combining wood, brick, and metal, resulting in a cohesive appearance. Additionally, large awnings will be installed to shield guests from inclement weather.

The decision to take a contemporary approach has been met with mixed reviews from fans online. With many concerned that a current design approach will look outdated fast. Former Disney CEO Bob Chapek appointed the former director Barbara Bouza of Gensler Design as WDI president. Leading to the coining of the term Genslerization, to describe the current Disney design style.

Significant changes will be made to enhance the outdoor grounds, surrounding landscape, and lighting. Graphics, exclusive to Disney Village, will adorn the main promenade and facades, featuring contemporary visuals that pay homage to Disney characters and imaginary worlds. This enables Disneyland Paris to quickly change out the decor, likely adapting it to feature current Disney productions.

“We are extremely pleased to be starting works on the north block of Disney Village soon, which will begin its extensive transformation over the next few months. In addition to a more harmonious stroll with touches of Disney magic thanks to brand new facades, a completely reinvented atmosphere and interiors, this project will also improve life behind the scenes and the comfort of our Cast Members and Disney Village Partner employees. We’re experiencing ambitious and exciting times, and I can’t wait to see the new Disney Village come to life for all our guests to enjoy,” said Bruno Chastain, Disney Village Director.
