Parc Astérix opened its 2026 season on April 4, unveiling a transformation of its Egypt-themed zone that includes redesigned rides, a new restaurant, and a revamped live show.

The French theme park has rebranded and overhauled two of its existing attractions. The former Oxygénarium water ride has been relaunched as The Descent of the Nile, featuring new decor, a themed queue, and what the park describes as a cruise along the River Nile watched over by Egyptian gods. Meanwhile, the Flying Chairs attraction has been reimagined as The Flight of Ibis, lifting guests ten meters above a landscaped water garden with water jets and themed scenery.

A new buffet restaurant, Épidemaïs’ Counter, will add Middle Eastern-inspired cuisine to the zone when it opens in June. The park’s live entertainment lineup is also being refreshed, with Cleopatra’s Gift returning in a new production on a redesigned stage on the OzIris esplanade, combining dance, music, and audience interaction.

The Egypt expansion follows a strong run of recognition for the park. Its spinning roller coaster Cétautomatix, themed around the Gaulish blacksmith character, was named the world’s best new attraction at the 2025 Parksmania Awards. The park’s Egyptian-themed fast-food outlet Les Fastes du Nil also took home the “Best Food or Retail Development” prize at the 2025 Park World Excellence Awards.

Beyond the attractions, Parc Astérix operates three on-site hotels within the Oise Regional Nature Park, ranging from the four-star Les Quais de Lutèce to the forest-set Les Trois Hiboux, all offering guests early access to rides 30 minutes before the park officially opens each day.

To mark the season launch, the park is running a promotional offer through May 7, 2026, giving free admission to children under 12 when accompanied by an adult ticket purchased online. The offer applies Monday through Friday, excluding public holidays.
