Disney Cruise Line’s newest flagship will offer three- to ten-night voyages from Southampton, Barcelona, and Rome

Disney Cruise Line announced this week that the Disney Wish, the lead vessel of its Wish class, will make its European debut in summer 2027. The deployment marks the first time a Wish-class ship has been stationed in European waters and represents the largest Disney Cruise Line vessel ever to operate European itineraries.

Currently homeported at Port Canaveral, Florida, where it operates three- and four-night sailings to the Bahamas, the Disney Wish will reposition across the Atlantic ahead of a European season running from late May through mid-September 2027. The ship will sail from three homeports — Southampton in England, Barcelona in Spain, and Civitavecchia near Rome, Italy — offering itineraries ranging from three to ten nights.

About the Disney Wish
The Disney Wish entered service on July 14, 2022, as the fifth ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet and the first of the new Wish class. Built by Meyer Werft at its shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, the vessel measures approximately 1,119 feet in length and has a gross tonnage of roughly 144,000 GT. She carries up to 4,000 guests in 1,254 staterooms and is supported by a crew of approximately 1,555.
The Wish class introduced several firsts for the cruise line, including the use of liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a lower-emission fuel source and azimuthing podded propulsion. Onboard, the ship features immersive experiences themed to Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars properties. Notable attractions include the AquaMouse — billed as the first Disney attraction at sea — along with Broadway-style stage productions in the Walt Disney Theatre, themed dining venues such as Arendelle and World of Marvel, and the Grand Hall, which features the fleet’s first atrium stage.

The Disney Wish was followed into service by sister ships Disney Treasure in 2024 and Disney Destiny in 2025, with additional vessels in the class scheduled for future delivery. The ship reportedly cost approximately $1.1 billion to build.

The European Season
The European deployment will begin with a 14-night transatlantic repositioning cruise departing Port Canaveral on April 25, 2027, and arriving in Barcelona on May 8. The crossing will include calls at Funchal in Madeira, Gibraltar, and Cartagena, Spain, along with nine days at sea.

Once in Europe, the Disney Wish will offer a diverse range of itineraries spanning both the Mediterranean and Northern Europe. Families can choose from short getaways of three to five nights as well as longer voyages of up to ten nights. Several ports of call are new additions for Disney Cruise Line, including Zadar in Croatia, Trieste near Venice in Italy, and Hellesylt in Norway. The season will also visit established tourism destinations such as Santorini, Mykonos, Dubrovnik, the Norwegian fjords, and the British Isles.
Disney Cruise Line has described the itineraries as blending cultural discovery, breathtaking coastlines, and the signature storytelling that defines the cruise line’s vacation experience.

Looking Ahead
The European debut of the Disney Wish is part of a broader summer 2027 lineup from Disney Cruise Line. The Disney Magic and Disney Wonder will return to Alaska with seven-night sailings from Vancouver. The Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny will continue operating Caribbean and Bahamas itineraries from Florida, while the Disney Adventure will maintain its program of all-at-sea voyages from Singapore. Select sailings in early 2027 will also see the return of Marvel Day at Sea and Pixar Day at Sea on designated ships.

With the Disney Wish crossing the Atlantic, the summer 2027 season marks a significant expansion of the cruise line’s global footprint and offers European travelers their first opportunity to experience a Wish-class vessel without traveling to the United States.
