Disneyland Paris has recently received the award for Best Mobile Application at the Digital Experience Awards. Despite this accolade, the app has been heavily criticized for its poor performance by theme park fans.
https://anchor.fm/s/7618f58/podcast/rssMany Disneyland Paris fans are baffled by the award. Social media is filled with complaints about the app’s functionality. One notable comment from fan site DLP Report on X stated, “The App that can’t keep you logged into your account more than a few hours has won Best Mobile App Experience”.
Adrien Coulombeau, Head of Digital Affairs at Disneyland Paris, expressed his pride on LinkedIn: “I’m extremely proud to represent Disneyland Paris at this major event rewarding the best digital experiences”, “This is superb recognition of the work carried out for so many years by the Digital&Tech teams at Disneyland Paris”.
Developer Blamed for Issues
An external French developer has been identified as the source of the app’s issues. According to reports, the company allegedly dismisses fan feedback as unreasonable and focuses on less frequent visitors who are less likely to notice problems.

Disney enthusiasts have voiced their discontent online. “How did they even qualify ? Just because they bought the ticket to the conference ?” writes @aalllllyyyyyy on X. @vartaxe on X writes “This must be a joke… Anyways never trust any award as that can be bought easily!”.
Comparisons and Criticism
Fans have drawn comparisons to other theme parks, noting the superior performance of apps like the one used by Efteling. Some have recommended that Disneyland’s digital team visit Efteling to see how much they are lagging behind.
Fans have also pointed out that the Friends tickets could not be purchased via the app due to a technical issue. The contrast between the award and user experiences has sparked significant debate about the app’s true quality and the credibility of such accolades.
