Phantasialand has announced the new Avoras play area in Wuze Town will open in 2024. Originally scheduled to open in December 2023, during the Wintertraum (Winter Dream) season, new signage at the construction site now indicates that the attraction will not be completed until the spring of 2024.
The sign states that Avoras will “spread it‘s wings from spring of 2024”. Phantasialand’s newest addition will be an “interactive family attraction” with “exciting discovery tours” through the majestic primeval bird of the Wuze.

Wuze Town features fantasy theming and is inhabited by the Wuze, a mystical people. The play area is expected to contribute to the overall immersive experience of the land. The location of the Avoras play area was previously occupied by the carousel Wolke’s Airmail, a Magic Bikes type attraction by Zamperla. Wolke’s Airmail was relocated to make room for Avoras last year. It now operates near the entrance to Phantasialand’s Fantasy area.

The in-universe story of Wuze Town goes as follows: In ancient times, Wuze coexisted harmoniously with humans in the region of Phantasialand. As human technology progressed, the Wuze chose to withdraw underground. In 2002, Phantasialand aimed to construct a new attraction at the former Wuze Town location. During excavation, they unexpectedly unearthed the original Wuze Town structure and, shortly thereafter, encountered the Wuze themselves.

Delays in the construction and opening of theme park attractions are not uncommon. Park goers who would like to experience Avoras will need to adjust their plans to fit the spring of 2024 timeframe.
