A fire broke out at Disneyland Paris this afternoon, originating in the Cowboy Cookout Barbecue restaurant situated in the Frontierland section of the park. As a result, the themed area was off-limits, leading to the temporary suspension of performances for “The Lion King: Rhythm of the Pride Lands” theater show and the cancellation of a scheduled meet-and-greet with Goofy.

Disneyland Paris’s fire department promptly responded to the incident, initially maintaining visitors at a safe distance before eventually evacuating the entirety of Frontierland. No injuries have been reported due to the fire, which has since been contained by the Disneyland Paris Fire Department. Part of Frontierland has since been reopened, granting visitors access to Phantom Manor.
The entrance to Frontierland has been sealed off, resulting in the temporary closure of Big Thunder Mountain, Thunder Mesa Riverboat Landing, Phantom Manor, and the Frontierland Playground. The Disneyland Railroad’s service has also been suspended due to the proximity of Frontierland station to the fire. The nearby Colonel Hathi’s Pizza Outpost restaurant in Adventureland has also been closed as a safety precaution.
Details regarding the extent of the damage remain unknown. It is rumored that the fire originated in the fireplace of Cowboy Cookout Barbecue, a restaurant designed to resemble a large red barn with a western theme. The menu primarily consists of barbecue, burgers and grilled meat.
Update, December 16, 2023: Cowboy Cookout Barbeceue will remain closed until the extent of the damage can be determined. All other Frontierland attractions and shows will resume regular operation.
