Disneyland Paris has officially unveiled the name of its upcoming family attraction inspired by Pixar’s animated film Up: Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings. Set to open in 2027 at Disney Adventure World, the ride will become the latest addition to the park’s ongoing transformation and will be situated along Adventure Way, directly opposite the existing Raiponce Tangled Spin attraction.

The attraction’s name draws from the Wilderness Explorers, the fictional scouting club to which Up character Russell belongs. According to the park, the ride’s storyline will invite guests to join the club on a quest to earn an “Aviation” badge, immersing them in the world of the film alongside its iconic soundtrack.

From a design standpoint, Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings will offer a reimagined take on the classic flying chair carousel — a staple of traditional theme parks for more than a century. The Disneyland Paris version will accommodate 64 riders across 48 chairs, including several “duo” chairs designed for pairs. A tilting dome overhead will heighten the sensation of flight as the attraction rotates. Architecturally, the structure will blend Art Nouveau styling with industrial elements, incorporating wrought iron arches evoking characters from the film, along with balloon and cloud motifs. A golden spike at the top of the attraction will reference the iconic house belonging to Carl and Ellie, mirroring the placement of Pascal’s silhouette atop Raiponce Tangled Spin.

The queue area will be divided into four themed zones representing key moments from Up, and will feature decorative banners and props including Carl’s aviator helmet and goggles and Ellie’s adventure book. The attraction will also anchor a new themed garden inspired by the film, offering guests a lush, walkable space to explore within Disney Adventure World.
Construction was formally launched by Imagineers in November 2025 and is currently underway.
