112. Movie Park Germany Trip Report

Hello everyone, on this European Theme Park Spotlight episode Eric and Niels are chatting about Movie Park Germany. The theme park, formerly known as Warner Bros. Movie World, has evolved…

Plaza Gardens Restaurant, one of the most prominent dining venues inside Disneyland Park at Disneyland Paris, has closed its doors for an extensive renovation that is expected to last until early 2027.

The project, which began in April 2026, will encompass a full overhaul of the restaurant’s flooring, facades, and roofing, as well as updates to both front-of-house areas and the kitchen. The Victorian-themed establishment, located on Main Street, U.S.A., has long been considered one of the resort’s most elegant dining destinations.

According to Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, the renovation aims to refresh the guest experience while preserving the restaurant’s historic character. A new color palette centered on shades of green has been selected for both the exterior facade and interior spaces.

“To further root the restaurant in a lush, verdant atmosphere connected to the gardens outside, we have selected new shades of green celebrating the different seasons,” said Stéphanie Bohnhoff, Principal Show Designer at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris.

Among the planned interior changes, the dining room will feature new pastel green tiling alongside dark green carpeting with floral motifs. The seating layout will be reconfigured to accommodate 291 chairs — most of which are to be reupholstered — along with 40 redesigned banquettes. The buffet area will also be updated, with the addition of carved wooden elements and a lower-height buffet station designed with younger guests in mind.

Attention has also been given to the restaurant’s signature decorative elements. The stained-glass canopies are to be carefully restored, while existing lighting fixtures will be refurbished and upgraded with LED technology, with the stated goal of maintaining the appearance of bronze and brass metalwork while improving energy efficiency.

Plaza Gardens Restaurant is expected to reopen in 2027. Disneyland Paris has indicated that further details about the renovation will be released in the coming months.
