Europa-Park has opened the new Monaco-themed area to park goers bringing a slice of the Mediterranean principality to the Rust-based resort. Centered around the park’s long-running Silver Star roller coaster, the zone goes well beyond thrill rides to offer a multifaceted portrait of Monaco’s culture, history, and identity.

Visitors entering the new area are greeted by palm trees, light-colored facades, and landscaping inspired by Monaco’s famous Jardin Exotique, with its thousands of cacti and agave species. The approach to Silver Star has been reimagined as a leisurely promenade rather than a simple queue route.

The most significant transformation, however, lies inside the fully redesigned Silver Star Hall, which was completed in a construction window running from early January to mid-March 2026. Bavaria Film Studios, the Munich-based production company known for large-scale set design, partnered on the project, helping craft facades and environments that draw on different facets of Monégasque life.

Motorsport features prominently, as might be expected. The rear section of the hall traces the history of racing through its ties to the Automobile Club de Monaco, with exhibits spanning vintage vehicles and contemporary Formula 1 machinery — including a Mercedes F1 W04 that competed at the Monaco Grand Prix. Two racing simulators allow guests to experience the famous street circuit themselves.

Marine conservation forms another pillar of the zone. An immersive LED aquarium, developed in collaboration with Monaco’s Oceanographic Museum, immerses visitors in a Mediterranean underwater environment. The exhibit reflects Prince Albert II’s longstanding commitment to ocean protection and marine research.

The International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo, one of the world’s most prestigious circus events, is also represented, with an interactive quiz inviting guests to test their knowledge of the festival’s performers and history.

Throughout the hall, smaller details reward the attentive visitor: a license plate bearing the number “1975,” subtle nods to the ruling family’s history, and circus performers rendered on the walls. A Café de Paris — inspired by the landmark establishment near the Casino de Monte-Carlo — rounds out the area, offering aperitivos, coffee, and pastries. The new zone opened to the public as part of Europa-Park’s 2026 season.
