Europa-Park, the largest theme park in Germany, has revealed plans for a new Monaco-themed area — the 18th country to be represented at the Rust-based resort.
The new zone will draw on the glamour and Mediterranean character of the Principality of Monaco, transporting visitors to the Côte d’Azur without leaving southern Baden-Württemberg. Built around the park’s existing Silver Star roller coaster, the area will reimagine the surrounding environment with architecture, landscaping, and attractions inspired by the famous microstate.

Central to the new themed area is a celebration of the Monaco Grand Prix and its motorsport heritage. Visitors will be able to view exclusive vehicles from the private collection of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, alongside exhibits exploring the history of racing in the principality. The Silver Star coaster itself is being rebranded under a “Monaco Racing” banner, with a redesigned entrance featuring a checkered-flag motif, lush Mediterranean plantings, and a modernized portal.
Concept art released by the park offers a detailed look at what guests can expect. An interior preview center recreates the feel of Monte Carlo, complete with an ornate Belle Époque facade modeled on the Monte Carlo Casino, featuring Art Nouveau glass canopies, wrought-iron balconies, and decorative stained-glass panels. A recreation of the iconic Café de Paris serves as a food outlet, while the floor is styled to evoke the Grand Prix circuit with red-and-white racing curbs.

Outside, a sun-drenched plaza channels the atmosphere of a Riviera square, with cobblestone paving, bistro-style wicker seating beneath red-and-white parasols, palm trees, and red “Monaco” banners. The renderings also depict live street entertainment in the outdoor space.
The addition continues Europa-Park’s long-standing concept of organizing its attractions around distinct European nations and cultures. The new area is set to open sometime during the upcoming opening season.
