Disneyland Paris has shared more details regarding the Nordic Crowns Tavern, a new restaurant themed around the animated film Frozen, that will open on March 29, 2026, as part of the resort’s upcoming World of Frozen expansion.

The dining venue is designed to evoke a portside tavern in the fictional Kingdom of Arendelle, situated along a fjord. The interior features wood-paneled walls decorated with maritime charts, fjord paintings, model ships, and books referencing Arendelle’s seafaring history — all intended to create the atmosphere of a gathering spot for travelers and sailors.

For the building’s exterior, Walt Disney Imagineering drew on the architecture of Bergen, Norway, particularly the UNESCO-listed Bryggen district. The historic wharf area is known for its wooden structures arranged around shared walkways, giving the impression that two buildings share a single entrance. Imagineers felt the design echoed a central theme of the Frozen franchise: the bond between sisters Anna and Elsa.

Emma Yeates, Senior Manager of Show Design at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, said the team incorporated the characters’ signature colors into the facade, with green on one side of the entrance and blue and purple on the other — a nod to the dresses worn during Elsa’s coronation scene.

Inside, official portraits of Anna and Elsa are displayed in the main hall, flanked by draped fabric at the base of a staircase. The upper floor, which is not accessible to diners, is presented as a private space reserved for Arendelle’s royal family.

The restaurant also includes references to other characters and locations from the franchise. Paintings depict figures such as Olaf, Lieutenant Mattias, and the water spirit Nokk, as well as the Royal Sommerhus — a real attraction at Walt Disney World’s EPCOT. A cat perched above the entrance door is a detail drawn from the 2017 short film Olaf’s Frozen Adventure; its counterpart can be found at Golden Crocus Inn in Hong Kong Disneyland.

The menu, developed by Disneyland Paris’s food and beverage team, is inspired by Norwegian and Scandinavian cuisine. Offerings include salmon and meatball dishes, with poultry and vegan alternatives available. Desserts — described as mostly frozen — feature design touches referencing the crocus flower, Arendelle’s official emblem.

Nordic Crowns Tavern will be located within Disney Adventure World, the rebranded second park at Disneyland Paris.
