Complete Transformation of Themed Area
According to Koen Sanders, Director of Product, Market and Image at Efteling, the development aligns with the park’s vision for complete immersion experiences. “The story of Raveleijn lends itself excellently to this approach,” Sanders explained. “By placing the new attraction outside the outdoor arena, we are making the themed area larger.”

The park show will undergo what officials describe as a “complete metamorphosis,” with the renovated production scheduled to run multiple times per day and nearly year-round, significantly increasing its availability compared to the current format.

Environmental and Animal Welfare Changes
As part of the renovation, Efteling has announced that live animals will no longer be part of the Raveleijn experience. The park has also committed to using more environmentally friendly fire effects in line with its sustainability vision, while maintaining the spectacular nature of the show through new special effects.

Current Show’s Final Season
The existing Raveleijn park show, which tells the story of five knights called by Halina to the magical city of Raveleijn to train as protectors against the evil Count Olaf and his five-headed Draconicon, will continue running through the Christmas holidays. Following this period, the attraction will close for renovation.

New Show and Facilities
The redesigned park show will feature a new storyline while retaining the current main characters. The outdoor arena will receive additional components to its recognizable set design. The themed area will also see the expansion of its food service location and the addition of a souvenir shop.

New Thrill Attraction Details
The new attraction will be constructed just outside the city walls and is described as a compact, spinning aerial experience. Guests will experience the sensation of flying with raven wings through fluid movements and tilting motions designed to create a thrilling experience.
