Hagen-Wiest, who previously led the two Michelin-starred Ammolite – The Lighthouse Restaurant for eleven years, officially took over culinary operations at Eatrenalin in May 2025. Beginning August 31, 2025, he will introduce a new menu concept featuring collaboration with three other two-star chefs from restaurants across Germany, France, and Switzerland.

The new culinary team includes Christian Kuchler, Paul Stradner, and Stefan Heilemann, who will each contribute individual courses to the eight-course tasting menu. According to the restaurant, this collaboration aims to create an “immersive experience” that bears the culinary signature of four star chefs.

Located at Roland-Mack-Ring 5 in Rust, Eatrenalin opened in November 2022 as a joint venture between Thomas Mack, managing partner of Europa-Park, and Oliver Altherr, former CEO of Marché International. The concept was inspired by Europa-Park’s Voletarium attraction, where visitors fly over European landscapes, leading the founders to envision combining such journeys with high-end cuisine.

The restaurant operates using a patented “Floating Chair” system developed by Mack Rides, which transports diners through eleven different rooms during the full dinner experience. The chair, weighing 320 kilograms and composed of 2,078 components, took two years to develop and allows guests to adjust height and angle individually.

The 1,600-square-meter facility can accommodate up to 160 guests per evening across ten groups, with each group limited to 16 people. Dinner experiences last over two hours, with groups starting every 27 minutes from 5:10 PM, with the final seating at 9:10 PM. The restaurant also offers a shorter “Late Night” experience lasting 90 minutes through six rooms, beginning at 9:45 PM.

Pricing for experiences ranges from €135 for the Late Night option to €445 for both the Champagne Dinner and Sommelier Dinner variations. Additional bar packages are available, ranging from €38 to €104.

The facility, built to KFW55 energy efficiency standards, features rooms with ceilings up to eight meters high and a controlled ventilation system with heat recovery. Adjacent to the restaurant, eleven premium suites called “Krønasår Boutique Suites” have been constructed, including four suites designed to complement the Eatrenalin theme, featuring rotating beds that utilize Mack Rides platform technology.

According to company materials, the founders plan international expansion to major metropolitan areas in the coming years, targeting investors interested in low-maintenance, secure dining systems combined with innovative food concepts and automated restaurant operations. The dark ride / restaurant is located next to the four-star superior Hotel Krønasår and the Rulantica water world at the Europa-Park resort complex.
