The tragic death of a Phantasialand employee during maintenance work on the Taron roller coaster over three months ago has led to an investigation by the Cologne public prosecutor’s office. The investigation, confirmed by a spokeswoman, targets two amusement park employees on suspicion of negligent homicide.

The suspects are believed to have violated safety regulations designed to prevent workplace accidents, leading to the fatal incident at the popular amusement park in Brühl. The victim, a 43-year-old man, was a beloved employee and father, who had played a significant role in the construction of the Taron roller coaster, affectionately referred to by his family as “his baby.”

In the wake of the accident, the deceased man’s family launched a fundraising campaign to support his widow. The appeal, which concluded successfully, raised over 25,000 euros to alleviate her financial burdens and provide some relief during this difficult time. “This will relieve her of a huge financial burden and give her one less thing to worry about,” stated the family’s appeal.
