Known as the go-to destination on Main Street, U.S.A. for park goers seeking to indulge their sweet tooth, the beloved candy shop will reopen in 2025, with a new look.

Walt Disney Imagineering Paris is leading the refurbishment, aiming to revitalize the candy shop that first opened its doors in 1992 while maintaining its original charm. This project is part of a broader initiative to expand the resort’s food and beverage offerings.

The refurbishment will include a complete rearrangement of the space, restoration of columns, paintings, moldings, and decorative accessories. Park goers can also look forward to new furniture and exclusive artwork being introduced to the shop.

Disneyland Paris has put special emphasis on “preserving the original charm” as many fans have been less than thrilled with previous refurbishments. Many fans have seen the modernisations as de-themings, stripping many of the properties that make beloved Disney spaces unique. This wording likely means that the design teams are taking fan feedback into account. Additionally, the candy palace will offer an expanded range of sweet treats.

Update, July 2 2024: Boardwalk Candy Palace closed today for it’s extended refurbishment and is no longer accessible to park goers.
Both connecting doors to the shop, on the New Century Notions Flora’s Unique Boutique and Disney Clothiers sides, are boarded up. Many of the location’s signature items and candy, such as pick and mix, fudge, and Atelier des Gâteaux snacks, have been moved to La Confiserie des Trois Fées in Castle Courtyard.
