Phantasialand, renowned for its immersive experiences and thrilling attractions, has unveiled its latest addition: Avoras.
87. Goodbye Studio 1 – Hello World Premiere – AirMagique – Unofficial Disneyland Paris & European Theme Park Podcast
Nestled within the realm of Fantasy, Avoras breathes new life into a once-bare structure, transforming it into a fantastical climbing tower adorned with slides, nets, ropes, and playground equipment. “Flying high” amidst this whimsical landscape is a magnificent wooden bird, serving as the attraction’s captivating centerpiece.
Situated adjacent to the entrance of the Würmling Express mini-monorail, Avoras occupies the former site of Wolke’s Luftpost bicycle mill, which has since been relocated to accommodate the new play area. The mastermind behind Avoras’ design is Dutch designer Gert Eussen, who inherited the creative mantle following the passing of former house designer Eric Daman in 2022.
Eussen drew inspiration from the distinctive aesthetic of the surrounding Wuze Town themed area, which first welcomed visitors in 2002. Construction of Avoras commenced in the summer of 2023, with Phantasialand’s vision for the attraction gradually taking shape. Originally slated for a December opening, unforeseen challenges led to a postponement until March 2024.
Phantasialand paints a vivid picture of Avoras, describing it as a realm of “hidden paths, dizzying climbs, breathtaking viewpoints, and interactive installations,” inviting guests to explore new heights above the picturesque Wuze Valley. The attraction’s logo prominently features a clock, symbolizing the passage of time within this fantastical world.
Manufactured by KinderlandParks, the devices comprising Avoras pay homage to the majestic giant bird of Wuze Town lore, with the towering avian figure atop the climbing structure serving as a monumental tribute to this mythical creature.
