Notably, 2023 witnessed a notable influx of visitors from Germany and England, contributing to the park’s exponential growth. German visitors accounted for 33% of the total increase in visitor numbers, while English visitors constituted 12%, with Belgian visitors contributing significantly, representing 48% of the growth. Moreover, the Netherlands experienced a substantial surge in the number of annual pass holders, indicating a growing local interest in the park.

In an effort to rejuvenate its historical essence, Efteling undertook various initiatives, including the refurbishment of the iconic Anton Pieck square dating back to 1954. Additionally, the installation of nearly 12,000 additional solar panels brought the park’s total to 25,000.

In a bid to enhance energy efficiency, Efteling unveiled a new heat-cold storage (HCS) energy system in autumn, which significantly reduced gas consumption by 20% while providing sustainable heating and cooling solutions for attractions like Fata Morgana and restaurant Backerei Krümel.

With an average guest satisfaction score of 8.64 in 2023, Efteling remains steadfast in its pursuit of excellence, striving to become a top-rated European short-stay destination by 2030.
