Sleeping Beauty Castle’s lighting was also shut off resulting in a dark castle while the park ended it’s operational day. City Hall, which handles park goer issues, also shuttered it’s doors during the evening hours, a rare occurrence.

Throughout the entire night, Disneyland Paris and its surroundings were encircled by police helicopters, causing numerous nearby residents to endure restless nights due to high noise levels. Rumors circulated that the helicopter activity but was due to the ongoing Cast Member Strikes however this proved to be false. French authorities confined that the helicopter flights were pre-planned safety exercises.

Disneyland Paris President Natacha Rafalski broke the silence regarding the strikes, as shared by Cast Members, affirming that Disney will not engage in pay negotiations until the agreed-upon review in August. She also emphasized that while the Resort has recently achieved profitability, caution must still be exercised by executives.

Since Disneyland Paris management is currently unwilling to enter negotiations, strikes are likely to continue for the foreseeable future.

There are no scheduled strikes from Friday (June 9) to Monday (June 12) in order to ensure smooth operations for the Make a Wish event taking place this weekend. However, no conclusive decisions have been reached regarding the remainder of the upcoming week.
